Sitting on the sidelines

“Life is what happens while we’re busy making other plans” (Allen Saunders,1957). I have recently been challenged by this quote. There is so much truth in the fact that mankind has a constant need to be in control.

I suppose this comes from the fact that God has given us free will to make our decisions. But we should never forget: while we race around in the constant frenzy of “controlling our world”, God has a plan all ready mapped out.

Some of you may be like me, since I thought…I’m not doing anything. I’m bored and frustrated! You may think: I want to move on with my plans, my dreams….Lord, please make it happen!

Friends, please learn from my lesson. If you grumble and complain, God may take you out of the game until you’re ready to do things His way. But if that happens…all is not lost. When you’re sitting on the side lines, those busy days can no longer harass you. And spending time with God is the ultimate gift in finding peace. That has always been his plan.
