Autumn is my favorite season. After long months of heat, I anticipate cooler temperatures, football, and upcoming holidays with family. So, today, it may be 90 degrees outside, but I know…change is coming. In fact, we have a saying in Texas: “If you don’t like the weather…just wait, and it will change.” There’s never a dull moment. I suppose that’s the reason I love Autumn, with it’s glorious display of color.
How many of you know, life often reflects the seasons of nature? For some of my dear friends, I see them burdened by trials of grief, or illness. But we are getting older, and such things are expected at our age. As many of you know from personal experience, even the young suffer times of depression or heartache. So, no matter what stage of life you’re in, I pray you will remember the promise of changing seasons. If you don’t like where you are…just wait, and it will change.
God’s reminded us about this fact of life: “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). If you take time to read the verses, you may discover the present season of your journey.
So, don’t despair, dear friend. No matter where you are, you can be sure, it will change. I pray that eternal truth will give you peace.
Be blessed, Donna
