Hello, dear friends. Well, it’s that time again, when many of us wonder about the coming year. It reminds me of our years with the military.Whenever we received a call from home, my husband often said,” oh,I’m just killing time”.
Like most military families, we felt controlled by time: waiting for orders, waiting for the next duty station, waiting for our loved ones to come home.I’m sure life would have been much more enjoyable if we had used our time to simply live in the moment.
How many of us continue to live for future events? Since I am a writer, I must admit to the fact that I am a “day dreamer”; always planning for what waits just over the horizon.
But as a Christian, I must remember, God controls my future. He knows the days of my life, just as he knows “the very hairs of our head” (Matthew 10:30).
So, before you make your New Year’s resolution, take a moment to ask God about His plans. Do not forget his Word: “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father… Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” (Matthew 24:36,42)
I urge you to consider the readiness of our military, and be prepared to move out at the sound of the trumpet.
Until He comes, be blessed, Donna
