Finding Joy

As I sit at my desk, this morning, I have reason to contemplate what life would be like without my sight. Have you ever considered how visual our world has become?

Just take a moment and think about our social media: Texting, tweeting, Facebook, email, searching the web…the list of our modern connections seems endless. But since I’m typing out my thoughts on this computer, I will continue to make use of all those discoveries while I am able.

Have you ever considered what life must be like for those who can’t connect with the outside world through the gift of sight? How lonely it must seem. But, I have this one consolation… my God has said, “I will never leave you, or forsake you.” (Joshua 1:5)

Just think about life in total darkness. But, thankfully, we still have the gift of sound. I love music; even bird’s song gives me great joy. Sometimes I find pleasure by sitting outside and listening to the wind, as it blows through the trees. And I remember the peace I felt when I lived near the ocean; where I could hear waves along the shore. Even recordings of the ocean gives me great happiness.

There is much for which I am thankful in God’s beautiful world. I pray you will find time, today, to sit back and enjoy the beauty around you. There is much to see.

Until next time, be blessed.
Always, Donna
