Leaving a Legacy

Someone I love and respect has recently asked an important question: “Do you want to leave a legacy behind?” How would you respond?

For those of you who are young at heart, you may have personal goals which include adventure , fame, and fortune. But there comes a time in life when you consider the importance of the next generation.
How has your life impacted others? In order to find the answer, you might consider the people who made a lasting impression on your life.

Was there a teacher, or a family member who helped to mold your character? Hopefully, you can name at least one person who left a positive imprint in your book of memories.

For me, I had a Christian grandmother. She didn’t preach, or recite stories from the Bible, but she did teach me the gifts of compassion and charity. Her home was a sanctuary for anyone who needed hospitality. She was a true example of agape love. That was her legacy to a very large family. She will always be remembered for her willingness to give of herself. I pray my grandchildren might say the same of me, someday. What better legacy could anyone aspire to leave in this world, than the gift of love?

Until next time, be blessed, Donna
